Student Success Statement Obedience

Student Success Statement
“When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block.”
-James E. Faust
Reflection: I believe this quote means that when you are obedient it becomes a building block to something greater. It will lead to greater things and will help you along the way. If you are not obedient you will be going backwards instead of forward. For example say you find something on the floor you should return it and that’s a building block to something greater. If you decide to take it, it will be a stumbling block and take you backwards. So being obedient is the most important thing.

Plastic surgery includes many types of reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns. Like all physicians, plastic surgeons spend many years in training, beginning with four years of college. This is followed by four years of medical school and a residency training program. They must also be licensed, and many are also board-certified.

I wouldn't like to work in this field because there is always the possibility that it might look worse.

“Obedience… is the primary object of all sound education”
-Elizabeth Missing Sewell

For example, if you want to make a football team you must obedient and obey the rules they set up. So if you’re trying to get an education or joining a team you must have obedience.

“Obedience sums up our entire duty”
Hosea Ballou

Reflection: I believe that this quote means that when you have obedience can help you and it sums how your day was. Like if you are obedient then that can help you when you are older or when you are younger. For example say you have a test to do you don’t complain about it, you just do it. Being obedient shows that you can follow an order or anything. So being obedient is key.

“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
-Benjamin Franklin

Reflection: I believe that this quote means that if you get a good night rests you will become a healthy and wise man. For example say you have a busy day tomorrow and you go to bed a 12 than you will only have about 4 hours of sleep and that won’t have enough sleep to get you through the day. So a good night rests will make you a wise and smart man and that will make you wealthy.

Oriental Medicine
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) is an ancient and empirical system of medicine based on the concept of qi, which is usually translated as energy. Oriental medicine includes the practice of Chinese herbology in addition to acupuncture. AOM treatments identify a pattern of energetic imbalance within a patient and redress that disharmony in a variety of ways that may include acupuncture needling, cupping, acupressure, exercises such a tai ji quan and qi gong, as well as Chinese herbal preparations. AOM is virtually free of the side effects that accompany many modern medical procedures. Moreover, as a relatively inexpensive form of treatment, it is especially appropriate for reducing healthcare costs. The success of acupuncture today is due to its efficacy, remarkable safety record, cost-effectiveness, and significant public demand.
Salary: $20,000- $25,000
Education:

Minimum requirements include satisfactory completion of at least two (2) academic years (60 semester credits/90 quarter credits) of education at the baccalaureate level that is appropriate preparation for graduate level work, or the equivalent (e.g., certification in a medical profession requiring at least the equivalent training of a registered nurse or a physician’s assistant), from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Many AOM colleges exceed this minimum standard and require a Bachelor’s Degree for admission. Prospective students should inquire directly about admissions requirements with an AOM program of interest and may also refer to the full text of Essential Requirement 6 in ACAOM’s Accreditation Handbook at http://www.acaom.org/handbook.htm, which contains additional standards concerning assessment of prior learning, transfer credit, advanced standing, and English language competence.

“A wise man ought to realize that health is his most valuable possession”
-Hippocrates
Reflection: I think what this quote means that even if you have many prized possessions your most prized possession will be your health. So even if you have an object that is worth millions your health is worth way more than that. No matter how expensive your possessions may be your health is worth far more than that. For example if you have to choose between saving you’re most prized possession or yourself you should always pick your health. So you should always choose your health over objects.

“Courage is being scared to death and doing the right things anyway”
-Chae Richardson
Reflection: I believe this quote means that true courage is doing what is right no matter the consequences. True courage is standing up for what you know is right and not just running away. For example, say someone is getting bullied you should stop them because you know that is not the right thing to do. You should do the right thing even if it means that you will get hurt. So always do the right thing that is what true courage is, always doing thing right thing no matter the consequences.

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
-Sophocles

Reflection: I believe this quote means that you should do the right thing even though your losing, losing is better than winning and cheating. For example say you’re down 21 to 0 in the last quarter of a game it is better to lose than win by cheating. So you should always do what is right even though you might lose than to cheat and win by a land slide. If you do what is right than you will always win maybe not on the score board but you will win.
