Duties and Responsibilities:
Speech-language pathologists (sometimes called speech therapist) assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communications and swallowing disorders in patients. Speech, language, and swallowing disorders result from a variety of causes, such as stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, development delay, a cleft palate, cerebral palsy, or emotional problems.
Salary: $69,870 per year
Education:

Speech-language pathologist typically need at least a master’s degree. They must be licensed in most states; requirements vary by state.
